2020 Academy Students to see Hamilton: An American Musical

National History Academy is excited to announce that every student who attends in summer 2020 will also see the Broadway smash hit Hamilton: An American Musical at The Kennedy Center. Join us to get the hottest ticket in town!

Hamilton: An American Musical is a sung- and rapped-through musical about the life of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, with music, lyrics, and book by Lin-Manuel Miranda, inspired by the 2004 biography Alexander Hamilton by historian Ron Chernow. In 2016, Hamilton received a record-setting 16 Tony nominations, winning 11, including Best Musical, and was also the recipient of the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album and the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

National History Academy inspires high school students from around the country to understand the foundations of American democracy. Over five weeks, students will visit more than 35 defining sites of American history, including Gettysburg, Monticello, Washington, DC, Mount Vernon, Williamsburg and Jamestown.
